Tree Trimming and Removal in Sanford
We prune trees to grow stronger and take down the ones that have become a risk to your home. The same small crew that walks the yard with you does the climbing, the cutting and the final raking, so nothing gets lost between visits.
Pruning That Helps a Tree, Removal When It Can't Be Saved
Most trees don't need to come down. They need the right cuts: deadwood out, crossing limbs removed, weight taken off long branches that reach over the roof. A good trim is made at the branch collar so the tree can seal the wound, and it never strips more canopy than the tree can spare. We don't top trees, because the regrowth is weak and the decay that follows usually costs more later.
Some trees are past that point. A laurel oak with a hollow trunk, a limb split during a summer storm, roots lifting a driveway. In those cases we tell you plainly, explain why, and plan a removal that brings the tree down in controlled sections rather than in one piece.
Landscaping Sanford is business licensed and fully insured, and we have been in business since 2018. That matters on tree work, where climbing and heavy wood are part of every job.

What Our Tree Work Covers
- 01
Crown cleaning and deadwood
We remove dead, diseased and broken limbs throughout the canopy. Hanging Spanish moss comes out where it is heavy enough to shade interior growth.
- 02
Clearance pruning
Branches are lifted off the roof, away from walls and above walkways and driveways. We leave enough canopy to keep the tree healthy and the shade you planted it for.
- 03
Structural and storm prep pruning
Thinning reduces wind load before hurricane season, and correcting weak forks on younger trees helps them hold up for decades.
- 04
Sectional tree removal
Near a house, fence or pool, we take a tree down piece by piece with ropes and rigging. Open yards may allow a single felling cut, which is quicker and simpler.
- 05
Wood and debris haul-off
Limbs are chipped on site and logs are cut and removed, unless you would like firewood left stacked. Stumps can be ground the same visit through our stump grinding service.
Questions about Tree Trimming and Removal?
Call(407) 305-3430Signs a Tree Needs Attention
Dead limbs in the canopy
Bare branches that don't leaf out in spring are brittle and drop without warning, often in the first strong afternoon storm.
Branches over the roof
Limbs rubbing shingles wear them down and drop leaves into valleys. They also give squirrels an easy route to the attic.
Cracks, cavities or fungus
Mushrooms at the base, oozing bark or a hollow sound when tapped usually mean internal decay. That is worth a closer look before the next storm season.
A new lean or lifting soil
A tree that has started to lean, or soil heaving on one side of the trunk, can signal root failure. This is one of the clearest reasons to consider removal.
Thin, overgrown canopy
Dense interior growth with sparse foliage at the tips catches wind like a sail. Selective thinning lets air and light through.
How a Tree Job Runs
- 1
Walkthrough and written estimate
We look at each tree with you, point out what we see and explain trim versus removal in plain terms. You get a clear written estimate, and the visit costs nothing.
- 2
Permits and HOA checks
Some cities and homeowner associations have rules on removing larger trees. We check what applies to your property before any cutting is scheduled.
- 3
Protecting the yard
On the day, we set ground mats where equipment crosses the lawn and lower heavy wood by rope instead of dropping it onto beds or pavers. The crew you met at the walkthrough is the crew that shows up.
- 4
Cutting and cleanup
Work proceeds from the top down in measured sections. Afterward we chip, haul, rake and blow off hard surfaces, so the yard looks the way it did before, minus the problem limbs.
What Shapes the Price
Every tree is priced after we have seen it, because two oaks of the same height can be very different jobs. The figures in your estimate come from the factors below, and we walk you through each one. When several large trees need work in the same season, you can spread the cost: we offer financing of up to $100,000, repaid over 2–12 years, and paying it off early carries no prepayment penalties.
- Size and species
- Height, trunk diameter and wood weight drive the hours and the equipment. Dense live oak takes longer to cut and haul than lighter pine.
- Access and what's underneath
- A tree in an open backyard is straightforward. One leaning over a roof, pool cage or power line needs rigging and more careful sectioning.
- Condition of the wood
- Decayed or storm-damaged trees can be unpredictable to climb, which can change the method and the time needed.
- Cleanup and extras
- Full haul-off, leaving firewood, and adding stump grinding all adjust the final number.
Tree Trimming and Removal Questions
How often should my trees be trimmed?
Most mature shade trees do well with pruning every three to five years. Young trees benefit from lighter structural cuts more often while their shape is still forming. We'll tell you honestly if a tree doesn't need anything yet.
When is the best time of year for tree trimming?
Late winter and early spring work well for most hardwoods, because cuts close quickly as new growth begins. We also recommend checking large trees before hurricane season starts in June. Dead or hazardous limbs can come out at any time.
Do you trim palm trees too?
Yes, though palms are handled differently from hardwood trees. Our palm tree pruning and removal service covers frond and seed pod trimming without overcutting, which weakens the palm.
Will the stump be left behind after removal?
By default the stump is cut close to the ground. If you want it gone, we can grind it below grade with our stump grinding service so you can replant or lay sod over the spot.
How do you keep big limbs off my roof and fence?
Over structures, we tie off each limb before the cut and lower it by rope to a crew member on the ground. Nothing heavy is free-dropped near the house, pool cage or fence. If the landing area is tight, we cut in smaller pieces, which takes a little longer but keeps the wood under control the whole way down.
